The Business Clean Water Pledge

As a business owner in Florida, I pledge to make a priority of the following steps to protect Florida’s environment and economy:

1. I will replace soaps, detergents, cleaners and other chemicals used within my organization with environmentally friendly products.
2. I will ensure compliance and responsible disposal of oils, solvents, paints, and other potentially environmentally hazardous chemicals.
3. We will seek to use environmentally friendly “natural” and “organic” lawn care fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.
4. If a retailer or restaurant, we will reduce usage of single-use plastic & styrofoam items. We will promote reusable totes and biodegradable bags.
5. We will increase recycling efforts and seek vendors mindful of sustainable packaging.
6. On our property, we will work to accommodate more trees, shrubs and other vegetation, and use native plants only.

Where reasonably applicable to my organization, I pledge to implement the above goals to protect our waters and our environment on behalf of my organization, employees and for our customers.
